Having no other choice left, Jiraiya and Gamaken begin their battle against Pain. After hiding himself using camouflage, Pain summons creatures to defeat Jiraiya. Realizing that he is up against a powerful foe, Jiraiya uses a barrier jutsu and prepares to enter in Sage Mode. Due to the predicament Gamaken has, he sustains deep wounds from the battle. As Jiraiya has his jutsu ready to use, Gamaken leaves the battle. Jiraiya enters in Sage Mode and summons Fukasaku and Shima. He finds Pain, and Pain summons two other of his Paths to enter the battle.
