Pain's Deva Path meets Tsunade and they argue about true pain and the cost of peace. Pain's Human Path manages to find Naruto's location by reading Shizune's mind before removing her soul, killing her. Might Guy has a bad feeling when he sees flocks of birds flying away from the village and has his team make their way back. Pain's Animal Path reunites the other four Paths along with Konan outside Konoha to allow the Deva Path to destroy the village with a large scale Shinra Tensei, at the cost of shortening Nagato's life. Lord Fukasaku and Naruto are informed about the dead messenger toad and prepare for battle. Lady Shima then summons Naruto, Fukasaku, Gamakichi, Gamabunta, Gamaken and Gamahiro all within the newly formed crater just seconds after the blast, following Sakura's cries for Naruto's return.
