Naruto and Sakura see Kiba, who volunteered as the village's messenger, with Akamaru and they comment on how they're always stuck together. This made them remember the time when they were on a mission to retrieve a stolen treasure from thieves as Team 7. One of the theives uses a web-like jutsu which results into Naruto and Sasuke to be stuck together during their escape while Sakura fails to signal Kakashi and is captured. Naruto and Sasuke decide to rescue Sakura but they have trouble working with each other. They eventually find the thieves and manage to defeat them by working together even without having the ability to perform seals with their hands. In the end, they retrieve the treasure while Kakashi contemplates on how easy it is for Team 7 to overcome the saying 'Those who abandon their friends are worse than scum.'
