The Fighting team continues their fight. Tobi decides to go seek the Three-Tails on his own as he had angered Deidara earlier. He discovers the medical ninja trying to seal the Three-Tails at the lake. Shino's bugs defeat Guren, but Kakashi is stopped from killing her by Gozu, whom he then kills. The Guarding team stops Rinji from interfering with the medical ninja as Guren remembers she is the one who killed Yukimaru's mother. Kabuto admits Orochimaru used this fact to manipulate Guren.
